Mixed H 2 =h 1 Control of Sampled-data Systems

A worst-case mixed H 2 =H 1-optimal control problem is formulated and solved for sampled-data systems. The solution is obtained in terms of a set of synthesis equations, which correspond to similar synthesis equations for the continuous and discrete mixed H 2 =H 1 problems. The mixed H 2 =H 1 problem can be applied to the design of controllers which achieve robust H 2 performance for uncertain sampled-data systems. A second contribution of the paper is to provide a deterministic, time-domain interpretation of the H 2 performance measure for sampled-data systems as the average value of a quadratic cost with respect to L 2 =l 2 disturbances .
